Resumo:The transition from a rural reality in the territory to an urban one began to take shape in our country from the mid-1960s, particularly in the metropolitan areas of Lisbon and Porto. The major construction projects underway in the capital, combined with the low income from agriculture, drove many Portuguese to migrate”alongside those emigrating to other European countries”to locations where they could attempt to improve their living conditions.
