Reduce food waste: learn and raise awareness through an online game
| Resumo: | Food waste is now recognized as one of the main environmental problems of the consumer society in which we live. For this reason, various efforts have been made at the national and international levels to raise awareness through campaigns and school projects. Teacher Training Institutions have a fundamental role in promoting food waste reduction, which involves developing training sessions and designing pedagogical resources to support teachers. Here we report the impact of a training experience about the topic of food waste using an online game for students of the 1st Cycle of Basic Education. The data obtained from a questionnaire, applied to 93 students and four teachers, demonstrates that the online game promoted na increase of students’ motivation and interest, which reinforces the continuity of the use of this type of resources in the field of environmental education. |
