Detalhes bibliográficos
Resumo:Constant environmental, technological and organizational changes, may raise difficulties in keeping the curriculum of Information Systems updated. Thus, the knowledge and the abilities demanded of professionals are in constant transformation. School plays an essential role in the process of providing professionals with the necessary skills to operate in the Information Society. Their competence depends, largely, on an appropriate curriculum. The purpose of this work is to analyze the adjustment of the curricula of Portuguese and Spanish degrees on Information Systems to the demands of nowadays market. To this end, we have used as a comparative basis a standard curriculum on Information Systems, proposed by credible professional organizations. For that, we use the IS’2002 Model Curriculum and Guidelines for Undergraduate Degree Programs in Information Systems, proposed by ACM, AIS and AITP. The results allow us to obtain a vision of Portugal’s and Spain’s situation in the area of Information Systems training.
