Resumo:The "Ubuntu Leaders Academy" (ULA) has been defined as a non-formal education project that seeks to spread the Ubuntu philosophy and train young people and educators in an ethic of care, bridge-building and servant leadership. Some studies have shown the benefits of this project for students, but more research is needed into its impact on teachers. In view of the above, six individual interviews were conducted with teachers who participate in ULA, aged between 41 and 64, and female, after which a content analysis was carried out using the MaxQda program. Overall, the results indicate that the interviewees report benefits from ULA not only for the students, but also for themselves on a personal level (e.g. development of socio-emotional skills), professional level (e.g. new perspectives), and in the teacher-student relationship (e.g. improvement in student behavior). These results complement those already found in other studies on ULA, reinforcing the importance of evidence-based interventions and the role this type of intervention plays in promoting contexts that facilitate students' full development.
