The utilisation of a piezoelectric quartz crystal for measuring carbon dioxide in wine
| Resumo: | A piezoelectric quartz crystal (PQC) is used for the quantification of carbon dioxide in still white wine. The methodology is discussed in terms of calibration stability and accuracy as a direct consequence of coating amount and absolute quantity of carbon dioxide in the samples. The method is compared, in terms of precision, with the titrimetric method. Standard deviations for several wine samples are, in the titrimetric method, between 4% and 12%, while using the PQC from 1% to 4%, for wines containing 300-1000 mu g CO(2)cm(-3). |
