Bibliographic Details
Summary:This paper aims to describe and characterize student allocation in the Portuguese public higher education system, namely in the academic engineering programs. The application of multivariate methodologies for the evaluation of the students' satisfaction index detects natural clusters of academic programs and identifies some determinants of students' choices concerning higher education. These determinants may be used as explanatory variables of a model for the access to higher education engineering programs. The data used in this paper concerns the academic year of 2010/2011 and was provided by the Portuguese Ministry of Education.
