Detalhes bibliográficos
Resumo:The internet of things (IoT) is a parading increasingly implemented in current society. Mobility, interconnectivity, and communication of large amounts of data through sensors that need to be powered, require improved energy storage devices. In this chapter, the IoT concept is described together with the corresponding system components. Considering the need of sensors that must be powered, the most used energy storage systems, such as batteries and supercapacitors, are presented. Further, in the scope of sustainability, the proper design of these devices is essential to reduce the size and maximize the response. Finally, the recycling of these devices is discussed with particular focus on environmentally friendly methods.
