DQ predict i ve based current control of a three phase NPC converter
| Resumo: | Power electronics technologies are continually gaining preponderance and are indispensable for all sectors of activity toward a sustainable energy transition. In particular, the advances in terms of power converters and the respective control systems are contributing to enhance the integration of technologies into the power grid. In this scope, a DQ-predictive-based current control of a three-phase neutral-point clamped (NPC) converter is proposed in this paper. This current control strategy employs a DQ transformation and coupled with a predictive-based control, permits a precise regulation of the AC currents in a three-phase NPC converter. Supported by the nature features of the predictive-based control, the system anticipates and promptly responds to critical conditions of operating changes in the load. The combination of a DQ-predictive-based current control of a three-phase NPC converter is particularly interesting, e.g., for renewable energy systems, electric vehicles, and industrial applications. The detailed description of the DQ-predictive-based current control is presented along with the paper and the validation was performed with an NPC converter under various conditions of operation when linked to the power grid. |
