Resumo:The unicorn companies and its performance have attracted increasing interest due to its rarity and the need to stand out from the thousands of startups that emerge every day, in order not to fail prematurely like the majority of these companies. Keeping this in mind, this project seeks to understand the performance of these companies between the pre-and post-IPO periods, that is, during the transition process to becoming a public company. Eight US companies have been analyzed using data available on platforms such as Yahoo Finance and Stock Analysis. The results show that the companies are able to achieve financial stability after this transition, but that they find it more difficult to increase their market value in the years following the IPO.
