Barriers faced by women in leadership positions and potential gender quotas for corporate boards in Brazil

Resumo:Diversity is an increasingly addressed theme in the corporate world these days. This research aims to analyze the relationship between female presence in leadership roles, mostly by analyzing data obtained by interviews conducted with Brazilian women on leadership roles on Brazilian based companies. The interviews approached barriers that women face in their career path, first the ones raised by the doctrine of Eagly, and Carli (2007) and others identified in the interviews. The final goal is to understand the feeling of these women about the introduction of gender quotas in the corporate boards in Brazil.
