Resumo:The internship report focuses on how Belvand Geotechnics used Geographic Information System (GIS) to transform its mining exploration efforts in Cuanza-Sul/Angola. GIS is acknowledged as a key player in the mining industry, enhancing decision-making, logistical planning, and operational efficiency through enhanced spatial data processing and visualization. Belvand's use of GIS demonstrates its capacity to simplify the exploration process, which includes data integration. Furthermore, it takes a look at the benefits and outcomes of using GIS in mining exploration at Belvand. It emphasizes how GIS helps with decision-making, by combining various data sources, GIS provides a comprehensive view of geological and environmental conditions, which is critical for accurately identifying exploration locations and assessing potential environmental implications. Additionally, GIS plays an important role in engaging stakeholders by providing clear visual representations of exploration strategies, boosting transparency and collaborative efforts. On the other hand, it addresses the obstacles and constraints encountered when using GIS in mining exploration, such as issues with data quality, integration, and the need for technical competence as well as appropriate hardware and software resources.
