Hábitos de leitura à entrada do ensino superior
| Resumo: | Os alunos que frequentam cursos na área da educação desempenharão um papel fundamental na construção de leitores das próximas gerações, razão pela qual se torna relevante aferir os seus hábitos de leitura. Centrando-se nesta temática, o presente artigo tem como objetivo caracterizar os hábitos de leitura dos alunos de 1.º ano da licenciatura em Educação Básica de uma instituição de ensino superior portuguesa. Para o efeito, foi aplicado um inquérito por questionário online a 109 alunos do curso de Educação Básica de 1.º ano, tendo os resultados sido tratados recorrendo a uma metodologia mista (análise de conteúdo e análise estatística). Os resultados permitem traçar um perfil de leitor frequente, ocasional e não leitor, sendo que o perfil de leitor frequente é o que predomina em relação à leitura de obras literárias. Já no que se refere à leitura de revistas, jornais e livros/artigos científicos, o perfil de não leitor é o dominante. Estes resultados são relevantes e devem ser tidos em conta pelas instituições de ensino superior, tendo em vista o planeamento e implementação de ações que possam consolidar o perfil de leitor dos futuros educadores e professores. | Students who attend courses in the area of Education will play a key role in building readers for the next generations, which is why it is important to measure their reading habits. Focusing on this topic, this paper aims to characterize the reading habits of 1st year students attending a degree in Basic Education at a Portuguese higher education institution. For this purpose, an online questionnaire was applied to a hundred and nine students of the 1st year Basic Education degree, and the results were treated using a mixed methodology (content analysis and statistical analysis). The results allow us to trace a profile of frequent reader, occasional reader and non-reader. The frequent reader profile is dominant in literature reading. As for magazines, newspapers and scientific books/articles, the nonreader profile is dominant. These results are relevant and must be taken into account by higher education institutions, with a view to planning and implementing actions that can consolidate the reader profile of future educators and teachers. |
