Resumo:This work project examines how institutional investors influence the ESG strategies of Nordic firms and how these practices shape corporate behaviour and financial performance. Based on insights from a systematic literature review and a thematic analysis of interviews with leading Nordic investors, policymakers, and industry organisations, the study documents how investors actively steer companies sustainability priorities. The findings show that investor expectations, regulatory pressures, and strong regional sustainability norms collectively embed ESG into strategic decision-making. Together, these dynamics reinforce that stronger ESG practices are increasingly linked to reduced risk and more stable long-term financial performance in Nordic firms.
