Synergy valuation in the Pfizer - seagen acquisition - influencing factors on abnormal returns in R & D intensive industries for Us acquirers
| Resumo: | This thesis examines the Pfizer-Seagen acquisition, a pivotal deal in the pharmaceutical industry. It starts with a literature review on valuation methods and further analysesthe strategic motivations and financial implications of mergers and acquisitions in the industry. The thesis assesses both companies' market positions, strategies, and financial health, to perform two comprehensive standalone valuations. It also conducts a combined valuation to explore potential synergies and economically feasible offer prices, comparing these to Pfizer's announced offer. The supplementary individual part analyses the factors influencing abnormal stock price returns in R&D intensive industries for U.S. acquirers around M&A announcement. |
