Studying the different factors that influence Phishing Awareness per age group

Summary:Phishing attacks are a common malicious crime that takes advantage of a human element by exploiting sensitive information of individuals, without their knowledge. The entry point to this act is simply taking advantage of that weakness and manipulate people to obtain that information for their own benefit, which is becoming increasingly present in the digital world. This thesis aims to investigate the variables that affect people's level of awareness towards phishing by examining the existing literature review, conducting a survey, and highlighting the importance of measures to prevent this crime, among users. Variables such as educational and professional background, age, technological knowledge, and previous phishing experience history will be examined to understand their impact on phishing awareness. The outcomes of this study aim to expand everyone's knowledge about this crime and evidence the importance of educational interventions and continuous awareness programs, to enhance overall knowledge and disclosure of necessary actions, when faced with this crime. The analysis and results will contribute to identify effective strategies to prevent Phishing attacks and provide a broader understanding of this term, impacts, and consequences of this cyberattack, consequently allowing higher protection to all individuals.
