Bibliographic Details
Summary:Diabetes is an increasingly common disease with an important negative impact on patient’s morbidityand mortality, being the main cause of end stage renal disease. Management of the diabetic patient with chronic kidney disease poses additional challenges, namely with respect to defining glycaemic targets and in the therapeutics employed to achieve them. The authors review the state of the art evidence about the use of antihyperglycaemic agents in type 2 diabetes, from the perspective of a chronic kidney disease patient’s health care provider.
