Intestinal endometriosis diagnosed through colonoscopy-obtained specimens
| Resumo: | Endometriosis is common and can affect between 4 and 17 % of women in their reproductive years. 3 to 34% will have endometriosis foci in the digestive tract. We report a 30-year-old white woman who presented with abdominal pain and rectal bleeding, and who had a diagnosis of sigmoid endometriosis after histopathology of colonoscopy-obtained specimens. She responded satisfactorily to hormonal therapy. |
