Bibliographic Details
Summary:Cervical epidural blood patches remain an unfamiliar domain for most anesthesiologist as they fear the possible neurological complications related with the procedure. The injection of autologous blood as close as possible to the dural leakage site has shown to be the most effective approach for symptom resolution in case of spontaneous cervical dural tears. This case report describes in detail an alternative and feasible technique to perform an epidural blood patch at the cervical level reducing the theoretical risk associated with this type of procedure.
