Partnership and networks to promote social responsibility

Resumo:Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is at the present time globally assumed to all organizations, public or private, governmental or non-governmental. It is also recognized that CRS implies developing actions considering several stakeholders, and partnership and networking it is crucial in this context. This paper aims to present a case of partnership and network to promote social responsibility in Portugal. The research focused on the National Network of Social Responsibility (Rede Nacional de Responsabilidade Social, RSO PT), which appeared as a project under the frame of the EU Community initiative EQUAL, and remains its activity after the end of this project. This network it is assumed as a platform to promote apprenticeship, creation, exchange and dissemination of knowledge, and best practices to promote CSR. RSO PT is an informal organization that aggregates several public, private and non-governmental organizations with CSR’s similar objectives. RSO PT is open, multi-sector and multi-functional, and integrates different segments and sectors committed to this topic. This study uses a qualitative methodology through an exploratory study to analyze the role of this platform to CSR in Portugal.
