Nomeia.Me - Plataforma Online de Nomeação de Árbitros de Voleibol
| Resumo: | To ensure fairness and balance in volleyball games, it is essential to appoint referees who are responsible for enforcing the rules and making decisions during the game. The Referee Council is in charge of appointing referees according to the schedule of games for each championship. However, the appointment of referees can be a complex and time-consuming process that requires considering the availability of referees, potential conflicts of interest, and working conditions (such as having a personal means of transportation or issuing invoices). Additionally, referees can refuse the appointment or the scheduled game may be cancelled. These issues are further exacerbated by the shortage of referees to cover all games of the sports season, which leads to appointment makers having to decide which games have priority in terms of having official referees. To address these problems, we developed “Nomeia.Me - Plataforma Online de Nomeac¸ao de ˜ Arbitros de Voleibol” to streamline the process of appointing referees. The platform benefits both refer- ´ ees and appointment makers. For referees, it allows them to receive appointment alerts, manage appointments, indicate their unavailability and conflicts of interest and access previous games with confirmed results. For appointment makers, the platform helps to manage the accounts of referees, upload scheduled games, and assign referees in accordance with their availability and conflicts of interest (using filters and displaying only available referees). Tests with referees and appointment makers have shown that the developed solution is useful in aiding the process, meets requirements, and is easy to use. We believe the platform is a crucial tool for a quick and efficient appointment of referees, ensuring the fairness and balance of games. By streamlining the appointment process and providing better management and control, the platform can help ensuring games are officiated by qualified referees and contribute to the overall quality of the sport. |
