Detalhes bibliográficos
Resumo:Ankle sprains are the most common musculoskeletal disorders in daily-life and sports activities. Approximately 20% of patients develop chronic instability after the initial acute injury. If these patients, despite adequate conservative treatment, continue to manifest symptoms, surgical treatment could be an option, with repair or reconstruction of damaged ligaments. Of all the techniques for surgical correction of the chronic ankle instability, anatomic repair by Broström-Gould technique is most often used, with good to excellent results in most cases and minimal complications.
