Impacto do projecto de privatização agrícola no desenvolvimento das médias empresas de São Tomé e Príncipe

Resumo:The present work aims to study the impact of the Project of Privatisation and Agricultural Development of Small Properties in production systems, mainly in regard to medium agricultural enterprises. Based on a set of assumptions about the changes in the production systems a referenciel model was chosen to allow a sound international analytical structure to test several hypothesis. The socio-economic transformations occurring in the former state agricultural enterprises were studied they were formerly nationalised and recently privatized under the privatisation project with the aim of promoting the emergence of a new class of national agricultural entrepreneur, including the analysis of social indicators, economic data, food consumption and quality of life of managers families. There were improvements in incomes of the studied managers in recent years and great improvement of the food system (improvement of the food security situation based on local production) and their quality of life. There was a visible contribution to the diversification of production system and noted that the livestock production is very relevant in the economic viability of the agro-businesses activities.
