Passagem do sonho à imagem : ilustração de sonhos
| Resumo: | The objective of this dissertation focuses on conducting a research and a practical project, both directed by the dream based design. Dreaming is an unmanageable cognitive activity which can create all kinds of fantasy or illusion scenarios. Throughout history the dream has been a source of research at both personal and social levels, whose function is to formulate answers for the meaning of life, as well as past or future events. The dream was also often used for healing or other useful purposes. Over time dreams began to be seen as subconscious messengers and its sharing began to emerge as a necessity. Dream share began to be made through cultural events such as storytelling, singing, dancing, writing, or picturing. Due to its visual and sensory manifestation, dreams are often associated with art as a source of inspiration. Its abstraction towards reality and their scenarios, often fantastic, can attract anyone, making inevitable the need for its exploitation. Some artistic movements such as Surrealism, Romanticism and Symbolism, used dreams as the basis of his art. Some artists who reproduced their dreams were: Salvador Dali, Frida Kahlo and Robin Whitmore. Other artists only found inspiration in the dream world, such as: Francisco Goya, Henry Fuseli, William Blake, and Max Ernst. In a third case, individuals outside the art world made small illustrations of their own dreams, such as Marcel Proust and Victor Hugo. The issue raised in this work falls on the seriousness of the dream, that is, in what sense can be availed in artistic creation |
