Summary:Liver transplantation has become the treatment of choice for end-stage liver disease. When performed in women of childbearing age, in addition to treating the underlying disease, also has a beneficial effect on the quality of life of patients, particularly with regard to the recovery of their sexual and reproductive activity. Since the first case of pregnancy after liver transplantation in 1978, knowledge and expertise in these situations has increased substantially. Despite the growing number of successful pregnancy in transplant receptors, the risk of complications is higher than in the general population and is therefore considered a high-risk pregnancy and should be followed by a multidisciplinary team. Considering the growing importance of this issue it is presented a clinical case of a pregnancy in a liver transplant and, in order to contextualize it, it is undertaken a review of the literature.
