Detalhes bibliográficos
Resumo:Non-Hodgkin lymphoma is a disease that occurs in result of malignant transformation of lymphoid cells, which may arise in a variety of tissues. Constitutes half of all malignant tumors of the orbital cavity and ocular adnexa. In this paper we present a case of a 79 year-old male patient with a history of Non-Hodgkin lymphoma with primary involvement of the lung that, after a period of systemic remission, developed an orbital mass in the right lacrimal gland. After complete remission of this first lesion, the patient developed a new left lacrimal gland mass, without having reactivation of systemic disease in any of these relapses. After radiotherapy, there was complete regression of the disease, without complications or signs of toxicity. The patient kept the follow-up with periodic clinical and imaging revaluations. The emergence of lacrimal gland lymphomas is relatively rare, accounting for between 7 and 26% of all lymphomas that affect the ocular adnexa. In this paper we describe the differential diagnosis of this type of injury and how to manage the appearance of a mass in the lacrimal gland, emphasizing the importance of making an overall assessment of the patient and his disease.
