Business plan for Maria Cardoso Assistência Virtual
| Resumo: | A virtual assistant is an independent professional who offers, remotely, administrative or technical assistance services to other professionals, specifically freelancers, entrepreneurs, start-ups and small or medium-sized companies. Maria Cardoso Assistência Virtual is a Portuguese virtual assistant, established in 2017, which provides since then services such as administrative support, content creation and social networks management. Maria has been running her business without having a well-defined operational strategy to support her decisions. As a result, fundamental aspects as pricing structure, organizational structure and target segments are not optimized. Therefore, the aim of this dissertation is in one hand to understand the business model the company currently runs and in the other hand provide conceivable recommendations and improve this business model, in order to MC Assistência Virtual be sustainable in the market. After not only conducting a market research to other Virtual Assistances in the Portuguese and American market but also making interviews to two major Portuguese incubators, it was able to analyse the strengths and weaknesses of MC Assistência Virtual’s competitors and also, to define a potential market gap to target. The final recommendations of this dissertation highlight the urgency of certain actions that MC Assistência Virtual must undertake to not only stay competitive in the market but also to grow and expand in a sustainable way. Besides redefining its business model through the Business Model Canvas, those actions had to be proven feasible by means of a financial analysis. Only then it was able to demonstrate if this business is viable. |
