A implementação de uma abordagem comunicativa no ensino (básico e secundário) de PLNM em Macau
| Resumo: | In recent years, with the promotion and support of the Macau government, the number of primary and secondary schools teaching Portuguese has increased significantly. Despite the great efforts made by the government for the promotion of Portuguese, there is no effective and demanding program to guarantee the quality of the teaching and learning of this language within the classroom, especially regarding the students' communicative competence. This paper aims to develop an understanding of the current situation regarding the teaching of Portuguese as a Second language / Foreign language in secondary schools in Macau, with the intention of exploring the presence of strategies aimed at the development of communicative competence in the classroom. Furthermore, this study seeks to explore the relevance and possibility of adopting a Communicative Approach in teaching Portuguese as a Second language / Foreign language with Chinese learners, based on a theoretical review of the Communicative Approach and a qualitative analysis of the lessons observed and taught in 7th grade classes at the school Escola dos Moradores de Macau. This study allowed us to conclude that learning and teaching of Portuguese as a Portuguese as a Second language / Foreign language are affected by a number of factors, including teachers' roles, traditional Chinese learning and teaching methods, and the exam-oriented model. As a result, the study explores some of the obstacles affecting the implementation of a Communicative Approach to Portuguese language teaching and learning in secondary schools in Macau, with a view to identifying ways to improve the teaching of the Portuguese language curriculum, noting, among other things, the need for the government and school authorities to work closely with teachers, ensuring that professional development opportunities are provided, and the development of communicative resources/materials to ensure effective Portuguese language teaching in schools. |

| dc.description.none.fl_str_mv | Nos últimos anos, com a promoção e o apoio do governo de Macau, o número de escolas do ensino básico e secundário que ensinam a língua portuguesa tem aumentado significativamente. Apesar de os grandes esforços feitos pelo governo para a divulgação do Português, não existe um programa eficaz e exigente para garantir a qualidade do ensino e da aprendizagem desta língua dentro da sala de aula, sobretudo no que diz respeito à competência comunicativa dos alunos. O presente trabalho pretende desenvolver uma compreensão da situação atual no que diz respeito ao ensino de Português Língua Não Materna (PLNM) no sistema escolar de Macau, com a intenção de explorar a presença de estratégias visando o desenvolvimento de uma competência comunicativa na sala de aula. Além disso, este estudo procura explorar a relevância e a possibilidade de adotar uma Abordagem Comunicativa no ensino do PLNM com aprendentes chineses, com base na revisão teórica da Abordagem Comunicativa e numa análise qualitativa das aulas observadas e lecionadas em turmas de 7º ano da Escola dos Moradores de Macau. Este estudo permitiu-nos concluir que a aprendizagem e o ensino do PLNM são afetados por uma série de fatores, incluindo as influências sócio-culturais, tais como a percepção dos papéis dos professores e alunos, influenciados pelos métodos tradicionais chineses de aprendizagem e ensino, e o sistema orientado para exames. Como resultado, o estudo explora alguns dos obstáculos e dasafios que afetam a implementação de uma Abordagem Comunicativa no ensino e aprendizagem da língua portuguesa em escolas secundárias de Macau, com vista a identificar formas de melhorar o ensino do currículo da língua portuguesa, assinalando, entre outros aspetos, a necessidade de o governo e as autoridades escolares trabalharem em estreita colaboração com os professores, assegurando que lhes são proporcionadas oportunidades de desenvolvimento profissional e a elaboração de recursos/materiais comunicativos para garantir o ensino eficaz da língua portuguesa nas escolas. |
