Resumo:The present article reveals a 1588 text thought to be lost, a “Nobiliário da família Castelo Branco” in the chapters transcribing count of Vila Nova D. Martinho’s letter to king Manuel, reporting princess Beatriz travel to Nice in 1521, her marriage with duke of Savoy and the festivities that followed, written immediately after the events told in a fluent, colorful, vivid language, full with unknown details in other sources. Some of them are studied, particularly the first reference to Gil Vicente as a play author.
