Diabetes mellitus and pregnancy--treatment.

Resumo:Correct treatment of diabetes during pregnancy is of utmost importance, in the previously diabetic woman as well as in gestational diabetes. It is aimed at avoiding consequences of the metabolic disturbances on the mother and the fetus. Intensive insulin therapy and correct food intake are the cornerstones of treatment, euglycaemia without hypoglycaemic reactions or ketosis being their goal.
