Resumo:The ongoing war on drugs is far from being effective in reducing either the demand or supply side of the market. As the costs of enforcing the drug laws are very high, the global community should consider the feasibility of prohibition and the real results that have been achieved so far. Presenting evidence that the results of the war on drugs are largely unsatisfactory, a simpler model based on liberal ethics is proposed to deal with this matter.
