Resumo:Although the primary shooting and exhibition windows in cinema and remaining audiovisual media are rectangular in shape, devices capable of producing and displaying immersive films have become more present throughout the last decade. We question which changes take place in the scene blocking and editing when a narrative work switches from a rectangular display to an immersive spherical one, such as those in Virtual Reality devices. We choose to analyze two animated short films that have official versions for both traditional and immersive windows, available on Google Spotlight Stories platform: Pearl (2016) and Rain or Shine (2016). As a contribution to the field, we propose an analysis methodology. We apply this methodology and present the results at the end: the concept of diegesis of attention, in which the relevant narrative details must be completed by the voluntary gaze of the immersed spectator.
