Porto Alegre Street art as a generational experience.
| Resumo: | Marked by its ephemeral and discontinuous character, street art has been playing an increasingly significant role both in the visual space of modern cities and in academic research that reflects its phenomenon. This work seeks to bring a debate about time and generational issues that involve the relations between cultural/urban policies and artistic interventions in the city. It is in Gaston Bachelard’s “Dialectics of Duration” and in its ethnographic appropriation by Eckert&Rocha that I find a theoretical and methodological tool for understanding the memory of street art in Porto Alegre, in the extreme south of Brazil. Finally, I bring a question that accompanies me in this work proposal “Has graffiti died?” through it, I elaborate a reflection on the theme of the crisis and the projects, related to an insurgent generation of urban artists. |
