The importance of the works of torrential correction in controlling erosion. Examples of Lis river basin
| Resumo: | In Portugal, the torrential correction has been applied to the numerous small watercourses with a torrential regime, characterized by an intense erosion activity in the headwaters and a strong silting process of the beds in vestibular areas.The importance of these erosion processes in shaping the landscape is evident along the river Lis and its tributaries, therefore, the most intervened in terms of works of torrential correction. |
