The Collector: Practices and models of acquisition in the Art Market.

Resumo:In the art market, the modus operandi for the purchasing role of the collector, being individual, fickle and interactive in its nature, continues to present an important topic of reflection in the sense of its recognition and qualification. Based on a range of experiences and testimonies from primary sources, the objective of this article, is to observe the environment that hás characterized the art market in Portugal in recent years, reveal business acquisition practices and strategies, and establish a critical analysis of the collected data, while crossing it mainly with secondary literature, in order to obtain a platform for understanding the empirical acquisition practices, systematized or not, which are part of the art market system.
