A hospitalidade na perspetiva da cidade contemporânea

Resumo:This article is based on the text of the International Colloquium II opening conference on Hospitality promoted as part of an academic partnership between the Faculty of Education and Psychology of the Portuguese Catholic University and a Masters in Hospitality Anhembi Morumbi University of São Paulo and held in the city of Porto in February 2009 under the theme " Faces and Hospitality places." The author considers that the transformation of the modern city to the contemporary city creates a crisis that requires a reassessment of the assumptions and consolidated categories such as , for example, the concepts of identity , belonging, citizenship , representation, hospitality. These changes , building " possible future scenarios " ( Magnani , 1998) , imply fundamental reassessment of studies on urban hospitality.
