Israel, the Besieged Fortress

Ver documento

Detalhes bibliográficos
Resumo:This essay briefly reviews the history of the State of Israel and highlights the fact that it is marked by a constant struggle against hostile neighbors. Israel prevailed due to geopolitical choices that ensured it several military victories and the viability of its State, but that did not resolve the need for accommodation and conciliation with the Palestinian cause. The deep hostile rivalry between a minority and radical Palestinian faction and Israel is a threat to peace in the Middle East and to the stability of the World Order. The text ends with a characterization of legitimacy in the international subsystem of the Middle East and with a possible roadmap for Peace.
