The Use of Pesticides and Aerial Spraying in Brazil: The Conjuncture of Disasters and the Consequences of a Trade Agreement Between the European Union and Mercosur
| Resumo: | The study aims to demonstrate the real face of the Green Revolution and Agribusiness, so popular in Brazilian territory and employed as saviors of the economy in order to hide the great disasters that affect the population, which is suffering from these practices: aerial spraying being an example of the worst of them. It also aims to analyze the possible environmental and social consequences of the eventual signing of the trade agreement between the European Union and Mercosur. With the creation of the economic union, the occurrence of disasters, whether environmental or social, is highly likely, requiring the creation of guidelines. This article seeks to present the dynamics of the use and trade of pesticides in a way that substantiates knowledge for the debate on the topic. |
