The Dialogue between Theology and Metaphysics in Father Manuel Antunes’ Work: Kantian Influences and Contemporary Reflections

Ver documento

Detalhes bibliográficos
Resumo:Antunes and Kant share a concern for a deeper understanding of human nature, divine existence, and the relationship between faith and reason. While Kant seeks to establish a rational foundation for metaphysics and morality, recognizing the importance of faith in practical reason, Antunes emphasizes the complementarity between faith and reason without sacrificing one for the other. We intend to analyze how the views of both thinkers intertwine and diverge on fundamental issues such as the existence of God, the nature of ultimate reality, and the role of religion in ethics. By exploring these interactions, the complexity and richness of the dialogue among theology, metaphysics, and reason are analyzed, highlighting the ongoing relevance of these discussions for the understanding of human and spiritual condition.
