Environmental education in retrospect: genesis and development of an educational movement
| Resumo: | Environmental Education finds its roots in the second half of the 20th century when environmental degradation and sustainability issues, associated with social contestation, gained visibility. The aim of this paper is to present an historical context of the genesis of this educational movement, discussing how moments associated with international politics led to the development of a form of education and an educational intentionality that was evolved so as to address the advances of a global problem such as environmental degradation. |
