Based on a homonymous book written by Gary Paulsen in 1993 which explains in harsh manners the several punishments that slaves had to endure if they broke any of the rules that were forced upon them, the film depicts slavery in the United States in a tough and realistic way unprecedented in the Mickey Mouse’s factory. |
