O Homem e a Montanha - Centro de Apoio ao Turismo de Montanha da Lagoa Comprida
| Resumo: | This dissertation for the Integrated Master's Degree in Architecture at the Faculty of Sciences and Technologies of the University of Coimbra addresses the topic of Project Studio 1 A, Alto da Serra Planning Project, from Lagoa Comprida to Piornos. Located in the Upper Plateau of Serra da Estrela, the intervention territory covers the municipalities of Seia, Covilhã and Manteigas. The seasonality of snow tourism and unregulated mass tourism characterize the upper plateau of Serra da Estrela, exacerbating the conditions of the natural environment alongside climate change and global warming. The study, analysis and intervention proposal arise as a result of the problems that are accumulating in the extension of the Serra da Estela Natural Park, with negative repercussions that are increasingly evident with each passing year. The work object in Lagoa Comprida fits into the diagnosis established in advance as a problematic place of territorial, social and economic cohesion. The proposal for the Lagoa Comprida Mountain Tourism Support Center must support the tourist flow and provide support equipment for the arrival and temporary stay of visitors, promoting mountain tourism. The program is situated next to the northern arch of the Lagoa Comprida dam, offering parking spaces, a market, a cafeteria and accommodation. Direct access to Torre via individual car is restricted, defining Lagoa Comprida as one of the transport hubs for collective shuttle mobility, alongside Piornos. The operation's main objective is to intervene to protect and renaturalize the Serra da Estrela Superior Upper Plateau. |
