Liderança Transformacional Ambiental e Comportamentos dos Colaboradores Direcionados ao Ambiente

Resumo:Sustainability lies upon three fundamental pillars, namely environmental, economic, and social. However, in this research work, only the environmental sustainability pillar will be addressed, as it is extremely important today and often relegated to the detriment of other organizational objectives.Environmental matters have been growing in the public interest and there’s been a rise in necessity for companies to rethink how to adopt sustainable growth. In that sense, the present investigation has the main objective of determine the factors that can help explain the pro-environmental behavior of an organization's employees.This study innovates by considering whether clarity of environmental objectives and environmental self-efficacy mediate the relationship between environmental transformational leadership and employees’ pro-environmental behavior and their organizational citizenship behaviors directed to the environment.To materialize this objective, questionnaires were distributed by a town hall, resulting in a sample of 105 respondents. To create the database and perform the analysis of descriptive statistics, IBM SPSS 28.0 software was used. The remaining analyzes were conducted using Structural Equation Modeling using SmartPLS 4.0 software.The results revealed that environmental transformational leadership is positively related to clarity of environmental objectives, which, in turn is positively related to organizational citizenship behaviors and self-efficacy in the environmental domain. Finally, self-efficacy is positively related to pro-environmental behavior and organizational citizenship behaviors. Moreover, environmental transformational leadership is indirectly related to pro environmental behavior. This study contributes to the outlining of greater awareness in terms of pro-environmental behaviors within organizations, so that, in the future, more sustainable individual and organizational decisions are made in environmental terms.
