Detalhes bibliográficos
Resumo:Francisco Rodrigues Lobo appears to be the first author who in Corte na Aldeia has attempted to outline a paradigm of short narrative which encompasses the notion of tale quite distinct from the autonomous fictional genre that we have been caliing short story.Throughout the 17th and 18th centuries the art of story-telling was pervasive, thus hinting a society that takes extreme pleasure in conversation. Both activities have also been recreated in Lerenos dialogues. That pleasure in story-telling foregrounds a narrative textuality that predominantly emerges in doctrinal works. We believe this to represent a decisive stage when one considers the lusophone short story in diachronic terms.
