Rise and fall of Aelius Seianus: ways of saying the catastrophe in the Annales by Tacitus

Resumo:Taking as reference thread the references to Aelius Sejanus in the Annales by Tacitus, we analyze the narrative processes, stylistic resources and lexical choices that allow us to follow the character on his path to ascend to the glory of power, observe the sharp portrait of a cruel and unscrupulous politician and, simultaneously, intuiting and unveiling the signs that foreshadow his fall and the catastrophe of all os those who were related to him or had brought him to power, ultimately the princeps, Tiberius.
