Detalhes bibliográficos
Resumo:Pheochromocytoma is a chromaffin cell tumor which secretes catecholamines and is typically located in adrenal medulla. We present the case of a previously asymptomatic patient in which a silent pheochromocytoma presented as an adrenal crisis associated with cardiogenic shock in the perioperative period of a nonadrenal elective surgery. The acute critical care treatment is discussed as well as the clinical and biochemical diagnostic challenges. Received: 26/09/2016 - Accepted: 17/05/2017
