Sinonasal Inverted Papilloma with Malignancy: A Case Report: Papiloma Invertido Nasossinusal com Malignização: A Propósito de um Caso Clínico

Resumo:Inverted papilloma is a benign neoplasm of the sinonasal epithelium characterized by its capacity of local invasion, high recurrence rates and malignancy risk. We present the case of a 37-year-old male patient, with history of previous nasal sur-geries, presenting with symptoms of nasal obstruction and foreign body sensation of prolonged evolution. It was performed endoscopic nasal surgery and the histopathological analysis revealed an inverted papilloma pattern with carcinoma in situ. We discuss the differential diagnosis of this pathology, as well as its malignancy relation and treatment.
