Development of an Industrial Robot work cell

Resumo:This report documents the internship work developed at Rerom, moldes e ferramentas, where a robot workcell used for automatic a manufacturing process was developed. The report begins with a brief introduction where the company is presented and follows by addressing the equipment within the workcell: the robot, the electrical discharge machine (EDM), the computer numerical control machine(CNC), the pallet, the probe, the linear guide and the Programmable Logic Controller(PLC). With this consideration, the communication between the EDM machine and the company’s workcell managing software (SIMPLE) is also addressed. A discussion about the SIMPLE software which controls the robot work cell was also made. In this part of the internship, some discussion on Solidworks is also present. To achieve the coordination of some tasks, an application programming interfaced(API) was used to allow the usage of CAD files (Solidworks API) to develop a program to automatically determine the reference point of the CNC and EDM machines
