Detalhes bibliográficos
Resumo:This paper aims to propose the spontaneous theater as a method for qualitative research in education. The paper presents an experience with a class Literacy Education for Youths and Adults in a public school in the city of Viamão, southern Brazil. This study represents a cut of the dissertation “Concepts and Conceptions about Alcohol Use: a redefinition form educational practices “ the first author, under the guidance of the second author. The study was conducted on a group of youth and adults with low education and literacy, all over the age of eighteen. The guiding methodology was qualitative research participant. The articulation of spontaneous theater with other instruments such as individual interviews, participant observations and surveys conducted by the school and community have validated the use of this as a way to supplement the data obtained through other procedures. The theater has favored the creation of a space for group interaction in a dialogical process between the researcher and the social ones, consistent with the assumptions of active research. Thus, it became possible to obtain a more comprehensive view of the phenomenon studied and their interactions with social, cultural productions, historical context and ideologies. It was intended with this methodology, obtaining a thorough and detailed set of participants’ perceptions regarding the use of alcoholic beverages and the way in which this issue can be addressed in the context of education for youth and adults. Another aspect to be highlighted is the fact that it points. We hope the work can add value to future qualitative research that will be performed, since the use of spontaneous theater is a little researched topic and it is believed to be better harnessed by researchers.
