Resumo:In this article, we present the results of a study about higher education students’ satisfaction with learning through the use of LMS platforms as a support to Higher Education in face-to-face classrooms. Selected as objects of study, the study was developed with the students who were able to explore the ‘Discussion Forums’- an asynchronous tool for online interaction available in Learning management systems, in the year of 2012/2013 in their degrees and Masters degrees courses in the University of Lisbon. Based on a quantitative approach, the data was collected by an online questionnaire, made available for the 3740 students of the 40 courses where the discussion forums were used. We analyzed the results presented by the 604 responses, which allowed us identify the general opinions of higher education students about this e-Learning platforms, their degree of satisfaction with the use of these online interation tools and the extent to what they considered that the use of LMS contributes to improve their learning processes. The results showed that students experience a high degree of satisfaction with the use of the LMS platforms, also recognizing that such online interaction tools have improved their study and that they have learned more about the courses where teachers use this online systems.
