Detalhes bibliográficos
Resumo:This paper presents the results of a study developed around the importance of using Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in teaching and learning activities of students with Trisomy 21 (T21), who attend elementary school. Guided by the principles of Inclusive Education and the assumption that Information and Communication Technologies have an impact on teaching and learning processes, particularly those intended for students with Special Needs, and specifically with Trisomy 21, research has developed around two single students from a school in the center of the country. The final results obtained from the application and analysis of interviews to the teachers and the parents of the two students allowed us to observe the high degree of motivation and interest shown towards the use of ICT by these young people and their ability to handle general use equipment, not specifically adapted to their situation. The importance of promoting proper training specialized and targeted to Special Needs of teachers using ICT in activities with students with Trisomy 21 was also evidenced as a condition of the utmost importance for the development of Inclusive Education.
